FOTOGRAF PRACUJE W NIEDZIELĘ / A PHOTOGRAPHER WORKS ON SUNDAYS
wystawa zbiorowa / collective exhibition
Bunkier Sztuki

How can one recognize and show the precariousness that is the key feature of the contemporary working life of producers of culture? What is it like? What does one like about it, and what should be changed? What should one do when it becomes too much? These are the questions tackled by the project 'A Photographer works on Sundays'' a show that is funny and scary at the same time, based more on small gestures than on a representative collection of artifacts. A story about the state of the contemporary Polish photographer.

All artists presented here belong to the generation born in the 70s - the first one to experience the beauty of the emerging Polish photo-market. All of them are friends, students or graduates of the Photography Dept. at the Lodz Film School, working as press photographers (Przemek Pokrycki, Andrzej Wiktor), commissioned by tabloids (Anna Orłowska), realizing fashion sessions (Iza Grzybowska), trying to enter and stay in the art market (Konrad Pustoła). In spite of the limits their work imposes on them, their ideas of a 'good life' comprise a map of contemporary strategies of how to cope with precariousness.

Artyści / Artists: Iza Grzybowska, Anna Orłowska, Przemysław Pokrycki, Konrad Pustoła, Andrzej Wiktor
